Let’s Rodeo & Rope (or Pom) San Antonio!
The Lassos and the Lasso Alumni Association were invited to twirl our ropes and show our spirit at the 14th Annual Western Heritage Parade and Cattle Drive on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022. The parade kicks off the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, and we invite you to participate!
As this is the beginning of the Lassos 90th anniversary, it would be great to show our unity behind the Lassos by participating and either roping or showing our spirit using pom-poms (provided by LAA). The parade lineup begins at 8:30 a.m. downtown, and the parade starts at 10:45 a.m.
Ready to participate? You must complete release forms before joining us for the one-mile (approximately) route. Lasso Alumni are invited to register online by end of day Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2022. We will contact you with additional details for the parade and send you the necessary release forms.
The Western Heritage Parade & Cattle Drive Committee was established in 2012 and includes 250-plus committee members and volunteers. Since the parade’s inception in 2007, it has grown from a parade with 35 head of cattle, 60 participants, and a crowd of approximately 5,000 spectators in Downtown San Antonio to over 100 head of cattle, 50+ sheep, 500+ horses, over 1,000 parade participants, and approximately 75,000 spectators! The Western Heritage Parade & Cattle Drive is the official kickoff event every year to the 21 days of livestock shows, rodeo and concerts. The parade will be televised on our local KSAT channel.
