Save the Date for Boots, Birdie & Bogey: Oct. 26
Save the date for Wednesday, Oct. 26, as the TJHS Lasso Alumni Association (LAA) gets ready to host the 7th Annual Boots, Birdie and Bogey Golf Tournament! Our annual fundraising event starts at 6:15 p.m., with a shotgun start at 7 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m.
About the Golf Tournament
The LAA held their first golf tournament fundraiser in 2014 at Cool Crest Miniature Golf, which had reopened in 2013 after being closed for several years. It was the perfect partnership to support a local business and begin a new tradition for our organization. We honored the oldest living Lassos at our first tournament, which turned out to be a great success due to the support of Jefferson alumni and the community.
Since then, we hold the golf tournament every October and encourage participants to wear costumes! The golf tournament can get competitive! We hand out trophies for several categories: most hole-in-ones, team with the best costume theme, best individual costume, and team with the lowest score. We look forward to seeing the costumes every year!
Sponsors and Participants Needed
Every year, we look to our alumni and community for sponsorship for our event. Our goal is to raise enough funds from sponsors and participants to help us support the current Lassos and maintain the Lasso legacy. We provide scholarships to graduating seniors every year, as well as provide financial support for dance camps, dance competitions, boots, belts and ropes.
Join us in October for what is sure to be a great time! We’ll have food prior to the start of the tournament. Bring a friend or two with you, or better yet, form a team of four to see how your miniature golf skills measure up against other teams! You can register online or download a form and mail it to us.
