Membership Chair Priscilla Ingle Invites You to the LAA Membership Social

Several years ago, Lasso Alumni Association (LAA) member, Beth Bender Wells, class of ’73, reached out to Priscilla Ingle, and asked if she was interested in serving on the LAA board. 

“They were looking for someone to serve as their Holiday Party chair,” said Priscilla Ingle, current LAA president-elect and Membership chair. “I wasn’t that familiar with the LAA. The only thing I knew was that the Lasso alums gathered once a year to promote and sell their Fiesta medals, so I agreed to attend their next meeting, and I am glad I did!

“I met with a small, but mighty group of Lasso sisters – some I knew, others I didn’t – but we all had one thing in common, a love for the Lassos of yesterday and today, along with a deep desire to preserve its rich history and traditions.”

Many years may have passed since some of us have been Lassos, but the spirit, camaraderie and sense of Lasso pride has not wavered. Priscilla is happy that the LAA has afforded her the opportunity to get reacquainted with her Lasso sisters. While many of us have chartered different paths in their personal and professional lives, we are forever connected by the memories and life-long friends we made when we were Lassos.   

“Being a member of the LAA gives us an opportunity to pay it forward by supporting and guiding today’s Lassos and their wonderful sponsors,” said Priscilla. “I invite all Lassos – former and current – to our upcoming LAA Membership Mixer at Deco Pizza! It’s an excellent time to reconnect with your Lasso sisters and share fond memories.

“If you are not already a member of the LAA, I hope you will consider joining! All proceeds go to meet the needs of our current Lassos and provide scholarships to graduating Lassos. As we say: ‘Once a Lasso, always a Lasso.’ I look forward to seeing you!”

The LAA Membership Mixer is Wednesday, August 24, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Deco Pizzeria on Fredericksburg Road.
