Lassos Excel in Dance Competition

With most events and competitions cancelled due to the pandemic, the Lassos were excited to participate a recent virtual dance competition. We congratulate our Lassos for an amazing performance at SAISD’s virtual in-district competition, held Friday, April 23!

The girls competed against other SAISD high schools: Brackenridge, Burbank, Edison, Fox Tech, Highlands, Jefferson, Lanier and Sam Houston.

The Lassos competed in several categories, and brought home the following awards:

• Diamond Sweepstakes
• Gussie Nell Davis Award
• Judges Award for Jazz, Pom and Rope
• Best Overall: Platinum

Congratulations also goes to Lasso Major Lillian Cura, who won first place solo dance competition.
